Fine Art Prints

Any print on this site is available for purchase as a custom print.  Each is custom made personally by me to order, and is signed by me on the bottom right hand edge upon request.  There are three ways you can purchase:

1.  Simply email me with the print you are interested in, the size you would like, and specify framed or unframed.  You can choose the border options as well.  (See the FAQ below for more information.)  I will contact you with a quote including shipping, and we can make payment arrangements.  I accept cash, checks, VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and Paypal.  (Use this ordering method if you have special requests, or were quoted a price at one of my show appearances.)

2.  For easy online ordering, you may order unframed prints through my gallery on the Yessy Art Gallery.  Go to http://www.yessy.com/tomzeman.  You can place your selections in an online shopping cart and pay using your credit card.

3.  If you're in the area, come visit our booth at one of our show appearances!  You can view a range of prints in person, and will find special show pricing.  Obviously we can't bring everything, so if you have something special in mind, contact me in advance and I'll make sure we have what you looking for with us.  You can view our show schedule here.

All prints on are on either Bright White Vellum Paper or Textured White Canvas.  I use only the finest archival media available!

(Please state if you have a preference, otherwise I will choose the media I feel is most appropriate and pleasing for the presentation.)

The Bright White Vellum Paper is a lightly textured, velvet surface, fine art paper for truly luxurious fine art photographic reproduction.  This 310 gram, bright white, water resistant paper is made from 100% cotton fiber, and is acid and lignin free.  It is made in a proprietary mould made process that is stronger, more dimensionally stable, and offers a wider color gamut and Dmax than other papers of its type.   Weight:  310g; ISO Whiteness:  96.5.

The Textured White Canvas is a true museum-grade poly cotton blend that delivers the purest consistency and industry leading Dmax value by a wide margin.  This canvas has pronounced color that will truly blow your mind!  Utilizing breakthrough technology, this canvas is bright white, yet completely free of optical brightener additives.  It is a textured 20.5 mil, bright white, poly cotton blend canvas, using an acid-free, neutral pH coating.  Unlike 99.9% of available canvas products on the market today, this canvas utilizes no optical brightener additives, or fluorescent whitening agents.  This provides the most stable platform on which to print fine art photographs, without the metamerism issues or color shift issues inherent to other canvases.  Optical brighteners and additives compromise the attainment of true color, and they inevitably deteriorate and yellow over time.  This is the most archival canvas in the world.  In addition, this results in a canvas that is whiter than traditional canvas manufactured with OBA's, and utilizes advanced coating technology that is an industry leader in Dmax and color gamut.  Weight:  20.5 mil; ISO Whiteness:  93.

What's the difference?  Mostly it's one of texture in the final presentation.  The Vellum Paper is a very heavy weight, bright white, traditional cotton paper, that provides brilliant whites, and a luxuriously smooth matte texture.  Deep, smooth colors are exceptionally well rendered.  Being a genuine canvas, the Textured Canvas has a more highly textured surface, providing a more painting like effect.  While all of the images will look excellent on either, sometimes the final look is slightly changed or enhanced by the different surface.  Whatever is used, you can rest assured that I use only the finest archival quality media available, so you will be able to enjoy your image for many years to come.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Since all printed images are made personally by me to your order, I have the flexibility to customize the print to your requirements for image size, overall paper size, and border size and color.  I can work with you to deliver exactly the image you are looking for.

Sizes listed are in inches and refer to the paper size, not the final image size.  The paper size will be slightly larger than the actual image to accommodate your own matting or a border (see the next paragraph below).  If you're trying to fit a certain sized frame, please tell me, so I can make the final print size to your specific requirements.  Paper and image sizes usually differ and may not match the same aspect ratio.  For example, some images are panoramic, so they won't fill the height of the paper.  Whatever paper size you choose, the image will be enlarged as necessary so that the long dimension fills the page.  Any custom framer will be able to provide you with mattes and/or frames sized to your image.

Framed prints will typically have a neutral colored border simulating the effect of a matte.  You can omit this if you want your framed image printed fully edge to edge, or nearly to the edge with a slight white reveal.

Frames can vary.  Options for metal or wood are available for the same price. Just ask.

While I offer framing upon request, I strongly recommend you purchase your image unframed and have it custom framed locally.  This will be much less expensive for you, you will receive your image more quickly, and most importantly, you are more likely to be happy with the finished product if you chose it all yourself!

Can I get it signed?  Absolutely!  Just ask!  By default, I do not sign an image unless you specifically request it.  Then I will sign it by hand on the bottom right hand edge of the image, in the white margin, just off the image.  I can always add a signature, but I can't remove one!

Turnaround Time:  It typically takes about 7 days to print an image, and 3-5 days in transit to ship it to you.  I want your image to be as perfect as humanly possible, and arrive in perfect condition.  Prints that require framing require an additional 14-21 days.  All of this assumes I'm in town to actually do the printing.  If I'm away from the office, waiting times may vary.  I will reply to your message as quickly as possible, but if I am traveling, I may not be able to reply immediately.  I will reply to all inquiries!

Stock Photography Pricing Guidelines for Print and Web

I license images for any kind of commercial, editorial, or third-party use.  If you need an image of mine, we can work out an appropriate pricing structure.  I use Fotoquote to establish baseline prices for all commercial uses.  Fotoquote is a database of empirical price data-points for the most commonly used forms of licensing.  It is used to establish standards for pricing commercial photo use in the industry.

I sometimes make exceptions to the baselines for volume licensing, if there are indirect or intangible benefits, or other business opportunities associated with a given proposal.  I believe in win-win negotiations!

Images in this collection can be used on your personal, non-commercial web site for FREE.   My only requirement is that you retain the copyright in the image, and provide photo credit and a link to my homepage somewhere on the site, preferably through the image itself.  Also, please let me know via e-mail where it is being used.  How generous is that?

Images are also available for print use (brochures, catalogs, advertising, editorial), please email me for pricing.  Include the size of the image (1/4 page to full), placement (front cover, inside, back cover), and press run (5000 units and up).  I will return your email with a quote.
