BIOGRAPHY:

Tom Zeman is an outdoor and travel photographer based out of Wallingford, Connecticut USA.  Born in New Haven, he has lived in New England all his life.  Tom's love of photography started at an early age, and seldom can he remember a time when he did not have some kind of camera near to hand.  The first camera he ever experimented with was actually an old, battered Kodak Brownie Hawkeye (in 620!) dug out of a closet.  He graduated to his first 35mm as a teenager.  He attended the University of Connecticut and served in the Army National Guard.

Starting out as an event and wedding photographer, Tom discovered that he could combine his love of the outdoors with photography, enabling him to interpret this beauty and share it with others.  Tom hones his craft through continual practice and study, seeking inspiration from the work of great photographers like Galen Rowell, John Shaw, and Frans Lanting.  He has studied with photographers such as Rod Planck, Joe Dimaggio, and UK based photographer Guy Edwardes.

Tom complements the analog world with his in-studio digital editing suite for all his web and print publishing, producing stunning prints on a variety of media.  He has fully embraced the digital world, and has discovered the numerous advantages of exploring the world photographically through digital media.

Most recently, Tom is setting out to explore as much of the world with his camera as life will allow!  His goal is to bring back images of all seven continents, while being able to experience first hand the spectacular locations that our planet offers.  He is also working on studying his Connecticut home and the New England area in depth, and lives with his startlingly beautiful wife and two three children.
